Strokesaver: The Debate and Sales Calls

0

Regardless of who you were rooting for, it was clear to all parties that Governor Romney, by out-performing President Obama in the first Debate, changed the momentum in his favor. That the momentum changed again is not just beside the point of this Strokesaver Tip but underlines it.

I was struck, as if a book landed on my head, by the profound momentum change that can take place by one event, be it a debate or a sales call or even, though less likely, a phone call. I used to think, prior to my new bump on my head, that it was best to get out of a losing sales contest: if they are not going to buy they are not going to buy. But suppose that one last sales call could be so planned, so thought out, so rehearsed, so executed that an immediate and obvious momentum shift, like feeling the ground move under us, takes place?

What if our competitor is hatching just such a scheme against our unassailable winning position? What then?
